What is a Content Management System (CMS)?

Simply put it is web-based software that allows you to add, edit, or delete content on your website from any computer connected to the internet. You simply visit a special web page and login like you would to web-based email. Once you've logged in you can add or delete pages or sections to your website, edit or rearrange existing pages, and do it all without any knowledge of code. You can even have multiple users with varying levels of access. If you have a school website, for example, you could grant your teachers access to just their own class pages but not allow them to edit anything else.

What system do you use?

We use MODx, an open source system, which is used by big and small institutions alike. Because it is open source, the software itself costs nothing, and you only pay for our services of installing it and building your site on top of it. Moreover, we use MODx exclusively and have highly streamlined our workflow when using it. This means we can offer a professional grade content management system for school, church, and small business websites at a fraction of the cost that most others charge.

So how much does it really cost?

Similar systems and services can cost $5,000-$10,000 or more just to get started. In most cases, however, for institutions like schools, non-profits, churches, and small business, we can offer a website built on top of MODx for far less.
